Job Description

Our client is a British Owned Company and they are one of the world’s leading suppliers of thin client, remote access and virtualized desktop computing.

On behalf of our client we are seeking to recruit for a Customer Support/Helpdesk Systems Engineer who will be working full time from his/her own space at home in Cyprus. The firm has a small team of engineers already working from Cyprus. 

Full training will be offered on the systems our client uses. 

Job Description: 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience with Windows desktops and servers (Windows 7+, Server 2008+)
  • Experience with managing a Windows domain, including familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • An understanding of core networking technologies – IPs, Gateways, Subnets, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Awareness of Linux and a basic understanding of connecting to and running commands on a Linux server
  • Preferably some first line/helpdesk experience
  • Proactive attitude and ability to learn new technology
  • Good customer service skills
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
  • Positive and dynamic approach to work
  • University Degree in Computer Science or similar an advantage
