On behalf of our client, a multinational company specializing in providing IT services, we are currently seeking to recruit an experienced individual for the position of the Senior Database Administrator for their offices based in Nicosia.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•         Optimize SQL code as necessary

•         database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise

•         Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and in general troubleshoot and resolve database issues

•         Create and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning, monitoring, maintain

•         Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users)

•         Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragment and database statistics

•         Monitor performance of database systems resources and query throughput

•         SQL Server Installation, Upgrades, Migrations and Configuration

•         Install database software service packs and cumulative updates as necessary

•         Perform database backups and restores

PROFILE:

•         5-6+ years’ experience as a database administrator in SQL Server environment

•         Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance

•         Experienced in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS)and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

•         Experience with Monitoring & Diagnostic tools

•         Experience of administering SQL Server 2012 databases and above (MSSQL 2016 preferably)

•         Extensive experience in T-SQL and stored procedures, query tuning on high transaction systems, SQL CLR integration, Service Broker integration, XML processing

•         Experienced in ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) development / data integration

•         Excellent knowledge of the English language

•         Ability to develop procedure documents and maintain detailed database related documents
