CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a fast-growing Information Technology company with clients across various industry sectors including Gaming and Financial Services, we are seeking to recruit a highly experienced and technically confident Senior Software Developer to join their expanding team of professionals based in Nicosia.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance existing web applications and internal systems.
- Develop new web applications.
- Writing effective, accurate and functional code.
- Provide technical support for production systems.
- Perform functional/unit tests for developed web application and improvements on existing code.
- Write technical documentation.
- Contributing to application architecture, user experience, site security and performance.
- Consistently improve the speed, reliability, and performance of the applications.
- Contributing to the design and implementation of API's and webhook services.
- Integrating with a variety of 3rd party services communicating with JSON, SOAP or XML.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer Science.
- 7+ years of experience in web development (both backend and frontend).
- 4+ in architecting web-based applications.
- 4+ years of working experience in PHP (other scripting languages like JS and Python may be acceptable depending on profile).
- 2+ years of experience in managing, guiding and mentoring a team of developers.
- Solid knowledge of RDBMS/SQL, design patterns & principles and SQL optimization.
- Strong fundamental computer science skills (OOA/OOD, data structures, algorithms etc).
- Experience with source control tools (SVN, Git) and dependency management tools.
- Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including Javascript, jQuery, etc.
- Good knowledge of developing web services, APIs, and good understanding of REST standards.
- Experience in technology companies and start-ups using open source technologies including Linux and Apache. AWS, Redis queueing solution and docker will be a plus.
- Code Igniter/laravel experience will be a plus.
- Unity and Blockchain knowledge will be a plus.
- Knowledge of security best practices.
- Experience at writing and maintaining unit tests.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking along with a desire to keep learning.
- Precise and efficient communicator in English (written and verbal).
- A disciplined approach and ability to work with cross-functional multicultural teams.
